Green Holo Tape Mani

Today I have another tape mani to show you. It's far from perfect, but I'm still very proud of it :-)

I started with two coats of Essie Blanc, a simple white cream. Then I added the striping tape and found out that it's really really hard to stick a straight line on the nail. So the lines are a little crooked, sorry for that.

Then I added four different green holos.

On the lower left I used Nubar Reclaim, a medium green. On the upper left you see Million Lacquers Sunny Grass, a... well, a grass green ;-). On the upper right is a England Dragon, a forest green. And at the lower right is Color Club Angel Kiss, a light, blue toned green.

I finished the mani with one coat of Essence Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer.

To be honest, I don't know if Million Lacqers are still available, I coulnd't find the Etsy shop where I ordered anymore.

a England polishes are available at various places, you'll find a complete list of retailers here.

Hot Shot

Today I want to show you the third polish Pam (Girly Bits) sent me for review: Hot Shot. Thanks again, Pam, for sending me your polishes!

Hot Shot is a hot pink holo and part of the P.S. I Love You Collection. It's not really my color, to be honest, but with this grey weather it's perfect to lift the mood (even if I needed flash to show the holo effect. No sun around here).

Application was easy, no special sticky basecoat needed, I used three coats for full opacity. I stamped my ring finger with Essence Stampy Polish in black and Vivid Lacquer plate VL 007 (and I obviously still haven't learned that stamping straight lines need more skills than I have...).

11:59

Grey, black and gold for today's mani.

I started with three coats of Barielle U-Concrete-Me, a medium grey creme. I think concrete is a pretty good color description ;-)

On top of U-Concrete-Me I dabbed one coat of ILoveNailpolish 11:59 (New Year's Eve Collection). "11:59 is an elegant black nail polish accented with the perfect amount of gold glitters and shreds. This nail polish was created using a variety of black and gold glitters"
(Source: ILoveNP)

The clear base contains golden circles and microglitter, semi-translucent golden shreds and black hexes and squares. Application was easy, no fishing for glitter needed.

I finished with one coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and one coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast.

ILoveNailpolish are available on Etsy and at their own shop.

Morning Comes

Today's indie post is pretty exciting for me: it's the first time I'm showing a swiss indie polish. Yes, there really are swiss indie makers! Well, at least one: Madeleine and her brand Cadillacquer (how cool is that name?!). And as Madeleine informed me that I was her first swiss customer, this may very well be the first swiss review of a swiss indie polish ever (I always wanted to be the first one doing something, and as there have already been people on the moon and Mount Everest, so why not swiss indie polish? Hm, there have never been swiss people on the moon, so this one's still available..). OK, now I'm babbling, let's get back to the polish.

For this mani I used two coats of Manhattan 67S as base color, a blue toned lavender creme.

On top of 67S (don't you just love "creative" names like this?), I layered two coats of Cadillacquer Morning Comes, " a light blue base with small white glitter, small periwinkle glitter and bigger periwinkle hex glitter."
(Source: Cadillacquer)

I had no issues with application and just love the look of Morning Comes. The polish dried to a pretty smooth surface, so I just added one coat of Essence Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer to finish this mani.

Cadillacquer polishes are available on Etsy.

Hey Jude

Today's awesome indie polish is named after an equally awesome Beatles song: Hey Jude (Jude Law's also named after that song, by the way...)

Hey Jude is part of the Imagine Collection, a whole collection of multichrome scattered holos named after Beatles songs. Hey Jude looks green in most angles and shifts over teal and blue to purple. I used three coats alone, on my ring finger I used one coat over a black creme (Manhattan 1010N) and some striping tape. I finished this mani with one coat of Essence Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer.

Enchanted Polish are available at Harlow & Co.Mei Mei's SignaturesBig Cartel and Llarowe.

Blue Easter

OK, I admit it, the name of the polish is Blue Christmas, but I can't call a blog post "Christmas" a couple of days before Easter, can I? And yes, my skin color looks pretty sick on these pictures, but that was the only way to show the base color more or less accurate.

The base color is Essence Life Is A Freeride (Snow Jam LE), a nice, shimmery teal. I used three coats for full opacity.

On top of Life Is A Freeride I dabbed one coat of Different Dimension Blue Christmas, "a clear base, holographic blue and silver glitter, white, blue and silver holographic hexes."
(Source: Different Dimension)

I finished the mani with one coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and one coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast. The looks of these two polishes combined is pretty wintery, but honestly: I don't care, I like them at any season ;-)

Blue Christmas is no longer available, but you can get other Different Dimension polishes on Etsy or at Llarowe.
