40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Earth tones

This week's the last 40 Great Nail Art Ideas week. There will be another challenge, but I can't tell you yet when it will start. The last color scheme is earth tones, and my final personal pattern prompt is waterfall.

I started with three coats of Pahlish Bad Wolf, a light taupe with golden and pink flakie shimmer.

For the waterfall I used Kiko 617 Taupe (Mirror Lacquer), Catrice Discreet (Thrilling Me Softly Limited Edition), Catrice Reggaeton (Cucuba Limited Edition), Essence School's Out Forever (Class Of 2013 Limited Edition) and Essence James's Favorite Brown (Soul Sista Limited Edition). I obviously had a very shaky hand during this mani, man, my lines are wonky... As usual, one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top fimished this mani.

Pahlish polishes are available on Bigcartel and at Overall Beauty.

Lacke in Farbe und bunt - Braun

Lacke in Farbe und bunt is a weekly nail polish challenge by Lenas Sofa and Das Jahreszeitenhaus. Each week they have a new color scheme, and this week's color is brown.

My brown polish is Kiko 374 (Pearly Chocolate Noir), a deep chocolate brown with a strong reddish shimmer. I used two coats for opacity.

On top of Pearly Chocolate Noir, I stamped using MoYou Stamping Polish in Skin Silk, a soft pink creme, and Moyra stamping plate 03 (Ornaments). One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished this mani.

Coldwraith

Coldwraith is the name of today's polish by Femme Fatale.

Coldwraith has a dark royal blue jelly base filled with lots and lots of blue, teal and purple hex glitters, some of them holographic. I used three coats and added two coats of KBShimmer Clearly On Top, as Coldwraith dried rather gritty (this could be because of the age, my bottle is quite ancient and this polish is no longer produced, but I've seen it's still available at some retailers).

Femme Fatale polishes are available at their shop, Harlow & Co. , Norway Nails  and Color4Nails.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas: Autumn

Autumn has started, and that's also this week's challenge theme.

I started three coats of Catrice Suspect (Thrilling Me Softly LE), a pale gold shimmer.

Then I sponged my four autumn colors (green: Catrice Virgin Forest (Coolibri LE), orange: China Glaze Harvest Moon (Hunger Games Collection), red: Zoya Posh, brown: Essence James's Favourite Brown (Soul Sista LE)) over What's Up Nails Leaves nail vinyls. After removing the vinyls, I finished with one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Lacke in Farbe und bunt - Mittelblau

Lacke in Farbe und bunt is a weekly nail polish challenge by Lenas Sofa and Das Jahreszeitenhaus. Each week they have a new color scheme, and this week's color is medium blue.

My blue polish isn't all that "medium", but when I googled Mittelblau, I got some royal blue pictures, too, so I guess my royal blue one is OK. It's called Dark Depths by Emily de Molly, it has a royal blue jelly base and is filled with hex glitter that looks just plain blue in most of my pictures, but irl they shift from aqua over teal to blue (there's a hint of it to see in the bottle), so it's much more beautiful irl than my pictures show. I used three coats and finished with one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Emily de Molly polishes are available on Etsy and at their own shop (Australia only) and at a lot of international stockists.

Am I Not Yours?

Am I Not Yours? is today's polish, and it's by Happy Hands.

Am I not Yours has a medium grassy green jelly base filled with yellow, green, blue and teal hexes, some of them holographic, plus some teal squares. The base is very sheer, my pictures show three coats. If you want complete opacity with this one, I suggest to wear it over a green base. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top gave a smooth finish.

Happy Hands polishes retired, so other than blog sales, there's no way to get these anymore.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas: red, yellow and green

As you see in the post title, red, yellow and green are this week's 40 Great Nail Art Ideas Challenge colors. My personal pattern prompt is watercolors.

I started with a white base (two coats of P2 So Innocent), then thinned down my color polishes (red: Essence Juicy Love, yellow: Catrice Earnie And Birdie, green: Essence In The Jungle) with acetone and dabbed them on my nails. Then I dabbed a brush dipped in acetone over the lines where the colors meet to blur them even more. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished this mani.
