Halloween

Happy Halloween to everyone who's celebrating! After friday's Halloween in the wrong colors mani, here's my more traditional approach to the theme.

This time I went all classic: black (P2 Eternal), blood red (MoYou London Rusty Red) and silver spider webs (aEngland Encore Margot and Bundle Monster plate BM-H07). One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top gave the mani extra shine.

26 Great Nail Art Ideas: Halloween in the wrong colours

At the end of october, of course this week's 26 Great Nail Art Ideas theme is Halloween, but in the wrong colors. Since Halloween manis usually are done in dark, bold colors, I decided to go pastel for this task.

All the (visible) polishes I used are MoYou London stamping polishes.

I started with a gradient using Winter Green (pistachio creme), Chill Out (periwinkle blue creme) and After The Storm (light grey creme) over a white base (P2 So Innocent, I totally forgot to add this one in the bottle shot), then stamped with Café Au Lait (beige creme) and Bundle Monster plate BM-H08. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished this mani.

Lacke in Farbe und bunt - orange

Lacke in Farbe und bunt is a weekly nail polish challenge by Lenas Sofa and Das Jahreszeitenhaus. Each week they have a new color scheme, and this week's color is orange.

I have to admit, my interpretation of "orange" is quite liberal, but Pumpkin Patch (by Pahlish) has at least orange undertones in its caramel colored base plus some orange and holo glitters. I used three coats and added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

For the stamping I used L'Oréal Chrome Shine 343 and  B. loves plates B.04 stamping plate. Another coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top gave it some extra shine.

Pahlish polishes are available on Bigcartel and at Overall Beauty.

Copper Fall-ing

Here come some more fall colors!

My base polish is Essence Love Potion!, a copper shimmer, leaning on rose gold. I used two coats for opacity. This one's a magnetic polish, but I didn't use a magnet with it.

On top of Love Potion! I dabbed one coat of Glimmer by Erica Fall-ing, a clear based glitter topper with red, gold, copper, black and purple hex glitters. I added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top for a smooth finish.

Glimmer by Erica polishes are available on Etsy.

Gold Sansa

I haven't shown many fall manis yet, so it's time to start ;-)

My base color is Zoya Sansa (you know, winter is coming...), a dark purple filled with gold flakie shimmer. Sadly, the gold shimmer didn't really show on the nails, the shimmer looks just purple. I used two medium coats for opacity and had no issues with application.

On top of Sansa I stamped with Barry M. Gold Foil and MoYou London Landscape Collection plate 04. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top gave the mani some extra shine.

Lacke in Farbe und bunt - tannengrün

Lacke in Farbe und bunt is a weekly nail polish challenge by Lenas Sofa and Das Jahreszeitenhaus. Each week they have a new color scheme, and this week's color is fir green.

My polish is Dollish Polish Black As Night, Black As Pitch, Blacker Than The Foulest Witch (what a long name!). It has a dark green shimmer base filled with tiny green and gold glitters, that give the polish a fir green look. I used two coats for opacity, that dried a little gritty, so I added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top. As much as I love the brand, I have to admit that I wasn't happy with the formula. It's rather thick, which made application quite a task. The brush is cut somewhat irregular, so the use was even harder. This might be a problem with the mini bottle I bought, maybe it's not as bad with the regular sized bottle.

On top of Black As Night, Black As Pitch, Blacker Than The Foulest Witch I added some Kiko Mirror Nail Lacquer 626 Lawn Green using a fan brush. Another coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished this mani.

Dollish Polish are available at their store.

Highline

One of my favorite Indie brands, ILNP, brought out a new collection, and of course I had to buy some bottles. Here's Highline, a new Ultrachrome.

"Highline is an all-star Ultra Chrome™ with a gloriously intense shift from pale gold, to deep bronze, to vibrant green. An absolute beauty to behold with an incredible array of vintage hues that will take your breath away!" (Source: ILNP). I realised that ILNP didn't tell everything about their polish: it's not only gold, bronze and green, but also pink and blue! My camera could't even catch all the colors in one picture. As usual with the ILNP Ultrachromes, to formula was very easy to work with, the polish was opaque with three thin coats.

For the stamping I used P2 Eternal and Moyra stamping plate 03 - Ornaments. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

I wore this mani for my holidays in Greece, and since we had to stay longer than expected (air security strike), I wore it for a total of 11 days with only minor tipwear and one small chip on my left index! I really love ILNP polishes, not only for their gorgeous colors,, but also for their "long life". The picture below shows it on day 8 (with the Aegean Sea in the background).

ILNP polishes are available on Etsy and at their own shop.
