Lacke in Farbe und bunt - gold

Lacke in Farbe und bunt is a weekly nail polish challenge by Lenas Sofa and Das Jahreszeitenhaus. Each week they have a new color scheme, and this week's color is gold.

My base polish is Hits Specialità Hermes, a sheer gold linear holo. I used three coats for the pictures.

For the stamping I used MoYou London Black Knight and Moyra stamping plate 03 Ornaments. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Tip finished the mani.

Born Pretty Store Thermal Glitter Polish

Today's polish was offered by Born Pretty Store, thank you so much!

The polish is (supposed to be) a thermal polish with a hot pink jelly base and silver holographic hexes and microglitters. In the bottle, it looks purple, and in the shop pictures it has a deep red color, but on the nails, it's just pink. I used three coats (it wasn't completely opaque after these, was you can see) and added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

I held my hand in cold water before the first picture below, hot water for the second. See the difference in color? Yeah well, me neither. So the thermal effect just doesn't work with this one. If you still like it, you can get it here for 3.99$.

Nail Crazies Unite: Sunflowers

For the last August challenge mani, Sunflowers are the theme.

For this mani, I used MoYou London White Knight, Sweet Custard and It's A Date, MoYou London Pro Collection XL plate 23 and a dotting tool (plus one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top, as usual).

Lacke in Farbe und bunt - aubergine

Lacke in Farbe und bunt is a weekly nail polish challenge by Lenas Sofa and Das Jahreszeitenhaus. Each week they have a new color scheme, and this week's color is eggplant.

My base color is Picture Polish Attitude, a dark purple polish with scattereds silver holo particles. I used three coats for opacity.

For the stamping I used MoYou London White Knight and a stamping plate Born Pretty Store offered me, thank you so much!

The plate is BP-140 and as you can see, it works perfectly well. It has the usual size of round stamping plates (like Bundle Monster, Konad and all the other brands) and shows a big peacock and some twigs, leaves and flowers. You can get it here for 1.59$. I got it as part of a set of three plates, but I don't know if you can order this set (the one I asked for showed other patterns).

Born Pretty Store Nail Art Magnet

Born Pretty Store also offered me a very handy nail art magnet, thank you so much!

I tried the magnet with a polish I found very hard to work with, Dance Legend Thunderball, a royal blue and gold magnetic polish. I tried several nail art magnets with this one, and never had any visible effect. But this little helper is strong enough to work even with this polish. The magnet is quite small, so it's not really easy to hold it over the nail, for me it worked best just sticking it on a pair of tweezers (the magnet is strong enough to hold itself fairly secure). I applied one coat of the polish, let it dry, added a second one and held the magnet over it immediately, as close as I could without touching the polish. I used the magnet a second time with the freshly applied topcoat KBShimmer Clearly On Top (I don't know if it really makes a difference, I've just read on several blogs that you should magnetize the polish a second time after topcoat...)

.If you're looking for a small but strong nail art magnet, this might be the right one for you. You can get it here for 1.59$. In the shop it's marked for magnetic UV gel, but it works perfectly well with ordinary magnetic polish.

Born Pretty Store Flower Nail Stickers

The next Born Pretty Store item I want to show you are some golden flower nail stickers. Thank you Born Pretty Store for offering these!

As base color I used Essence Black Cats Wanted (Midnight Masquerade Limited Edition), a green jelly polish with lots of tiny glitters shifting from purple to green. I used three coats.

The nail stickers come in a sheet and you can cut out the patters just how you want them. Just remove the back foil and stick them on your nails. Sadly, they don't stick well at all. I added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top for protection, but as you can see, they soon started to peel off at the edges. I took a shower some hours after I did my nails, and I just could easily peel off all the stickers. So sadly, I can't recommend them (or at least not if you're planning on acutally wearing the mani...). If you still want to try them, you can get theme here for 1.49$.
